What is the Information Desk and How to Contact Us
What is the Information Desk?
Some libraries call this the Reference Desk or the Help Desk. This is the desk you go to when you have a question you need answered, are seeking information or books on certain subjects, want to find a book but don't know where it is, need assistance logging into one of our Internet computers, or would like a quick tutorial on the catalog or database computer. Some of the questions we have answered are how to locate audiobook biographies for children, looking up the meanings of medical terms, or finding the percentage of people in America who are of Japanese heritage from the last census. We also perform Readers' Advisory service - "the act of putting people together with the books they love” (www.genreflecting.com) - helping people find new things to read and enjoy. So if you are looking for library help, stop by the Information Desk. We will be glad to answer your questions. Confidentiality is our specialty. Be sure to check out our Job Searching Tip Sheet!
