Illustrator Brian Lies at the GPL July 10

Meet children’s book illustrator Brian Lies at a book signing at the Greenfield Public Library Tuesday, July 10 from 9:30-11:30am. Brian Lies made the artwork on all the posters, reading logs, and bookmarks for “Dream Big – Read!” the statewide summer reading program at the Greenfield Public Library and has illustrated a new children’s book, More by author I. C. Springman.

Brian and his wife will come to Greenfield in the “Moremobile”, a car decorated with Brian’s art of the magpie in the book. There will also be a giant bird’s nest kids can get inside for photographs. In the two hours of his library visit, Brian will show the audience how he does his drawings, read aloud from his work, and sign copies of the book for sale by the World Eye Bookshop (a percentage of proceeds will go to the library).

This event is free and open to the public. For further information contact Children’s Librarian Kay Lyons at (413) 772-1544 ext. 5.

Holiday Closing

The GPL will be closed on Wednesday, July 4 to celebrate Independence Day. We wish all of our patrons a safe and happy holiday.

We will reopen on Thursday, July 5 at 9:30am.

Where's the Chat Widget?

Due to a staffing shortage at our Information Services Desk, we have taken down the Meebo chat widget that used to appear on our website. If you need assistance, please contact us by phone at 413-772-1544 or email at librarian@greenfieldpubliclibrary.org.

6/28/12 As it turns out, we were unintentionally prescient. Meebo is shutting down it's chat service as of 7/11/12. It's nice to be ahead of the curve.
