For the Birds!

birdhousesThe Friends of the Greenfield Public Library will be hosting their Annual Fall Event on November 1st from 5pm-7pm at Stoneleigh Burnham School.

This year, the theme will be For the Birds and will feature a silent and live auction of birdhouses and feeders created and decorated by local artists. The live auction will be led by local personality Bud Foster.

At the event, the Friends will also publicly welcome new Library Director, Sharon Sharry and honor our Emeritus members. Also featured will be harpist Harriette Block and guest speaker naturalist Bill Danielson.

Beer, wine and an ample assortment of tasty hors d’oeuvres will be provided by the Friends.  Tickets for the event are $15.00 each and are available at the library or by contacting the Friends.

birdbathIn conjunction with the event, the Friends are conducting a raffle.  First prize is a unique hand crafted stone birdbath created by Mike Kostanski, second prize is a painted covered bridge birdfeeder constructed by Steve Roberto and painted by Nancy Baker, and third prize is 50 pounds of bird seed donated by the Greenfield Farmer Exchange.  Tickets for the raffle are $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00 and are available at the library. The winning ticket will be drawn the evening of the event.
